Lol! By you standards ppine , no Virginia doesn't have high country. I think Mount Rogers is around 5,700 feet.

Were the ponies still out and about on that frosty morning? Blue Ridge mtns may not be as tall as some of the northern Appalachians, but the have an unmistakable beauty all their own. Miss them. Hope to get there again this early May.

The ponies were out and about...didn't seem to mind the cold but they were grazing below the frost line from what I saw...about a hundred feet lower. More of them were in the forest during the rainy part of the weekend.
