This past Memorial Weekend, I joined a few friends of mine on a backpacking trip to Ostrander Lake in YNP.

I have been preparing for this trip for the past month prior and Murphy's Law took effect by blessing me with a 104 degree fever two days before the trip :)

Nevertheless, this wasn't going to stop me from going...this would be my first time in YNP...it didn't disappoint.  This is a 3 part report and I hope you enjoy...

Nice photos!  I was in Yosemite for Memorial Day Weekend as well (car camping though)!

@macchiolives, which campground did you stay in? I stayed at the backpackers camp by North Pines for one night...we then drove to Glacier Point the following day to the trailhead.

Crane Flat... I posted some pictures here: https://www.trailspace.com/forums/trip-reports/topics/159435.html

I want to do the Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne one day and check out the Waterwheels.  I have a week off in the first week of July but looks like I'd have to try and get a first come first serve spot if I'd like to do that.  We're putting a request this week in for Mineral King instead and if you have any info on the area  there that would be much appreciated!

Nice! A friend of mine was also car camping at Crane Flats...that was my backup plan in case I couldn't do the hike to Ostrander Lake.

The campgrounds closer to the Village were all packed...not really appealing to me.  How was Crane Flats? Was it heavily crowded?

Crane Flat was also full but I booked sites 518 and 520 which were nice and tucked in the corner of the campgrounds.  Beautiful photos once again!  Great trip report from the links!  Sorry you were sick during that time but you made it through!

Nice photos. Yosemite is great almost any time of year. My avatar photo was taken on Glacier Point Road a few years ago in February.
