Saturday last I arrived at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, I start work soon. We open to the public on May 15th

The last few days I have been going out for sunrise on the inner canyon.

Looking down across the Grand Canyon. Bright Angel Canyon stretching left to right, the south rim in distance.

Bench view from along the Transcept trail

View from the Bright Angel Lodge Veranda

Looking straight across the canyon at the south rim, the Bright Angel trail is visible just left of the brightest part of the upper wall. You can see the upper 2 miles of switchbacks of the trail.

The San Francisco peaks center, O'Leary Peak left and Kendricks Peak right above the south rim and 66 miles away

Mule Deer watches me from the woods along Hwy 67 45 miles south of the rim

I will be up here till late October this year.

Gary, the north rim is my favorite place on planet earth.  Nothing quite like sunset sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine.  And especially after completing an R2R hike!

Enjoy your summer in God's country.
