Bambaw Insulated steel water bottle

My discovery of this bottle was started by my wife. She was looking for a smaller (12 oz) insulated steel water bottle, with a handle, for our upcoming Europe trip. Most of what she was finding in that size was oriented towards children, and she didn’t want anything with squirrels or bunnies on it, but just a nice neutral color. She also wanted something you could just sip out of without having to deal with straws or bite valves.

We found these on Amazon and ordered one up for her, and she loves it. It keeps water cold for a long time, and the handle can be clipped to the front of her cross-body bag for Europe. I ended up ordering the 500 ml size for myself, and am very happy with it.

Bambaw is a company based in Belgium, which makes household products (and water bottles) in as sustainable a manner as possible. Their stainless steel water bottles are made of recycled 304 stainless steel. 304 is more corrosion resistant, and is the only part of the bottle that touches your water. The lid has a bamboo insert in the top, and and a silicone gasket to keep it leak proof. There is no BPA in any part of the bottle.

Nice wide mouth opening

One of the things that I IIke is that the lip is a little wider than most, so you don’t have a sharp piece of metal on your lips. The wide mouth makes it easy to add ice cubes, and also makes it super easy to clean (I use a bottle brush). The bottle is dishwasher safe (though the lid is NOT).

The double-wall insulation is advertised to keep beverages cold for 24 hours or hot for 12 hours. I haven’t tested if that is true, but it has kept my water cold for several hours at a time.

Used for our daily training walks

The Bambaw insulted water bottles comes in four different sizes: 350 ml, 500 ml, 750 ml, and 1 liter, and ten different colors. The color is powder-coated and has nice maate finish for a pleasant tactile feel.

The price of these bottles is excellent. A quick scan of steel water bottles on REI has a price range of $25 up to $60 for the top of the line YETI bottles. The price of these bottles ranges from $16.95 to $22.95 depending on the volume. Bambaw also makes a single wall non-insulated steel bottle line, which are about $4 less in price than the insulated. Bambaw bottles are available exclusively from Amazon in the USA, as far as I can tell.

My wife and use these bottles for our daily walks here in the foothills (have to get in shape for those hills in Tuscany!). After a few months, they still look brand new.
