Black Diamond Cold Forge Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars
photo: Black Diamond Cold Forge Jacket down insulated jacket

Great cold weather layer.

Pros

  • Packs down into the pocket
  • Solid pockets
  • Long length
  • Good price
  • Doesn't bunch up when washed
  • High collar fleece lined
  • Good weight 1 lb + ( warm )

Cons

  • I would like its own stuff sack

For those that have read my reviews, know that I won't review unless I have had the product for more than a year.

With that said, I used this jacket under a Gortex shell as my mid-winter guiding jacket pretty much all of last winter down to -25°C.

There were times when I had to remove the shell because I got too warm.

I also never managed to snag it or rip the outer material. Luck?

I like the long length for covering my kidneys and the high collar for tucking my chin in.

It also seems to bounce right back after you wash and dry it properly.

I am very happy with it and would definitely buy another one if I lost this one.
