Brunton Compro Pocket Transit
My go-to compass has until now been the Brunton 8099 Eclipse. One day I got lucky and found this compass alongside a trail where apparently some survey work had been done. My best efforts to return it to its rightful owner failed, so now it's mine.
This is without a doubt the most accurate compass I've ever used easily allowing me to get my heading down to within a degree. It will actually measure much smaller than that but the old adage "measure with a micrometer, mark with a grease pencil, cut with an axe" comes to mind. I can't walk that close. But it is nice to know that I can get that kind of accuracy.
Has lots of other bells and whistles that I probably won't use, but I do like this thing.
