An awesome baselayer from Craft.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Super breathable
  • Moisture wicking/quick drying

Cons

  • No UV protection

The Active Extreme 2.0 CN LS is NOT a thermal baselayer even though according to the company's graph it's best suited for elite athletes doing high intensity activities in temps hovering at -10° Celsius...

...ooorr just any other regular dude that sweats doing some very light backpacking @16-17° Celsius and 77% humidity in Crete (lol).

It feels warm when in sunlight due to the black color, but when in shade the temp drops instantly! I mean this thing really cools me off with even the slightest wind spell.

The sleeves and armpits feature an almost see-through mesh for enhanced breathability and beautiful contrast.

I wear medium and it's true to its size.

The fabric is from the CoolMax PRO brand and the NAME of the fabric is CoolMax Air, also claiming to be very efficient due to its propeller-shaped cross-section yarn.

All true: Even though I feel hot and kinda expect to be sweaty, when removing the baselayer my skin was almost completely dry except my back (because of the backpack).

The only con that I would find is that it has no UV protection, but that must be because of the yarn structure. Then again it's made from a Swedish company so...no sunlight, no sunburn.

Overall, very happy with it and would buy it in a heatbeat if I find it on sale again.
