Crescent Moon Yellowstone
This is a great shoe when you use it for what its made for -- running. I am an avid runner and I decided I would try out a pair of these "running snowshoes" that everyone was talking about. They were definitely worth the price. They have one of the fastest binding systems and have a very aggressive bottom. The first time I strapped them on I did not even know they were on my feet. They are as light as a feather and are great. I would just recommend not bringing them to the mountain with you.

The Yellowstone is Crescent Moon’s dedicated running and racing snowshoe, built for moving fast and light over the snow.
The Yellowstone differs from the other snowshoes in Crescent Moon line in several important ways:
- The three cleats -- located at the toe, ball, and heel of the foot -- are made of aluminum, shaving a few grams over the more rugged steel cleats found on other models.
- It’s made with lightweight components throughout, which translates to less weight on your feet – a key point when you’re racing or logging lots of long training miles..
As other Crescent Moon models, the Yellowstone features a powder-coated aluminum frame for strength and durability, and its deck is made of a PVC-free material the folks at Crescent Moon call TGS (“The Good Stuff”), which they claim is stronger than decking materials, like Hypalon, used by other brands.
Crescent Moon previously sold the Yellowstone as the Gold 12. They are the same snowshoe.
