EMS Rain Parka

rated 4.0 of 5 stars

This is the ~1992 model EMS Gore-Tex jacket. It carries the Gore "Extreme Wet Weather" tag. The actual model name is probably something like "Storm Parka" or "Storm Front". The actual model name has been lost...

The jacket has nylon mesh lining with an interior pocket, attached hood, drawstrings for hood and waist, two zippered outer pockets (just above hip level) with storm flaps, and a zipper/snap closure for the front. I've never been soaked though in this jacket. I have sweat during summer rains though. I didn't expect anything less.

Overall, the jacket performs well. I do have a couple points to pick at though. It is possible to catch the outer pocket zippers on the pocket lining, this can be a bother. The hood keeps the elements off, but it tends to block your vision. A baseball cap keeps the pesky hood away from your eyes.
