A great battery storage system for all your electronics. 5 milliampere-hour of storage. Super thin design.

  • Can be charged from multiple sources
  • Lightweight
  • Easy to use

The EnerPlex Jumpr Slate 5K is a simple to use storage battery with an integrated power plug that can be used to recharge any mini USB compatible device. Measuring  6 5/8 inches by 3 5/8 inches and only 1/4 inch thick the Jumpr Slate weighs just 6.5 ounces.

To charge up the battery, plug the supplied power adapter into an outlet and insert the mini USB plug into the Jumpr Slate. Four green LEDS are provided to show the state of the electric charge. The LEDS flash when charging and all four will light up when the battery has a full charge. If you are off the grid you can also charge the battery using solar panel chargers.

To charge a cell phone or other electronic device you unplug the integrated mini USB, plug it into your device and press the power button. The LEDS will flash and the Jumpr Slate will begin charging your device. You can continue to use your device while the charging takes place. Jumpr Slates are available in versions for charging both Android and Apple devices.

I recently took the EnerPlex Jumpr Slate 5K on two trips where it really showed how easy it was to use. On a 6-day backpacking trip in the Sierra, the Jumpr kept my Kindle totally charged for the entire trip on one charge.  I followed that trip up with a 10-day Tour of Mont Blanc, during which I was able to keep both my phone and Kindle fully charged throughout the trip.

Because we only had one European plug adapter it was easiest to charge the Jumpr and then charge both of the other devices. Several times I plugged the Jumpr into my device and loaded it into my pack and let it charge while I hiked.

On previous trips, we have used a variety of solar panels to charge electronic devices. It is actually safer to charge the Jumpr Slate and use it to charge a device. Its small size and light weight, make it a must-have item when I hit the trail for any extended period of time.
