I bought one of these tents a couple of weeks ago I set it up outside to check it out before taking it camping. After I got it together It seemed my older less expensive tent was better made. This tent was only held down by four almost coathanger size pegs and two plastic ones for the fly. I noticed two loops one one each end of the tent. These are supposed to be used if expecting bad weather. No lines furnished for them. It rained a little yesterday, with a moderate wind. I was outside, I looked over at the tent and it was up in the air some stretching its skinny little elastic cords. The ground cover blew out from under it remember moderate wind, I was outside. Then one of the little stakes pulled out the tent coocked over and broke one of the alum poles. This tent is an overpriced product made in communist china for next to nothing. What would eureka do for me. Almost nothing. they said they would send me another pole.

I spent 10 days in this tent in Virginia for the National Boy Scout Jamboree 2005, and the tent was better than I expected.

We had two people staying in the tent, so there was enough room for two cots, and one person's gear. The other would use the vestibule, very big. I imagine it would be rather small for four people and the gear in the vestibule.

We expierenced extreme heat, and one very bad storm, now the models we used had clips from the fly to the tent so it would stay dry, but I didn't know that so the tent wall blew in on the tent all wet, and from the outside it looked as if it were soaked on the inside, but to my suprise, the inside was 100% dry.

The tent also withstood a kid running into it (accident). The poles were bent but we put them back into perfect position.

I would recommend this tent for many uses.

I own two of these Timberline tents. I bought one about 20 years ago, and nothing has gone wrong. It still looks like new. I am 5'3" tall and I can put this up with the rain fly in 5-10 minutes BY MYSELF! That is the best feature about this tent other than its durability. The rain fly works great. Screening keeps out every bug! I did buy other stakes for this, but I normally do not need to stake it once my gear is inside. It is very easy to move about also.

Purchased this tent for a fall BWCA trip for 2 (big) guys. We spent 7 days in this tent without a single incident. We staked it out properly, using all guy-outs as necessary, and the wind and rain were not a problem. I am going to sew additional webing midway on the fly for additional protection, very cheaply done. Enough room in vestibule for 3 canoe packs. I would highly recommend this tent for canoe camping, but not for a group of 4.

Very disappointed in the quality of workmanship. I went on advice of a close friend and I did get a good price. I have had other Eureka tents in the past 40 years and this was the first one that did not meet up to my standards. I will donate it to the Scouts and stick with my ALPS.
