photo: Fjallraven Yupik Parka synthetic insulated jacket

This jacket lasted two months.

Pros

  • Warm
  • Windproof

Cons

  • Price
  • Low durability
  • Broke in dryer

This jacket lasted two months. I used it nearly every day for things ranging from ski practice to walking to class. I bought it specifically for the wind and cold that I experience nearly daily during the winter. It was great.

Unfortunately after a very wet race weekend it needed a wash and dry. After going through the drier (tumble dry low) the hood came out melted. This is strange considering my speed suit was also in there with it, that being a much more heat sensitive garment, and it came out totally fine.

Customer service has been slow through almost all channels including phone and in store and I've yet to see the problem fixed. The washing instructions say ironing is fine, so I would think that heat damage shouldn't be occurring, yet it has.
