Pros

  • It's nice to carry one set of batteries with me while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and know I will always have fresh batteries when I need them after dark.

Cons

  • The Guide Ten has two ways to hook up to the Solar panel and one way is with a pin jack that doesn't stay in when hiking.
  • The other way, the better way, is to use the USB cable to connect and in that way you could eliminate one of the cords on the Solar Panel and save a little weight.

I'm hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and do a lot of night hiking looking for a campsite or going for water. The Guide Ten make my life and hike easier and safer knowing I will always have fresh batteries for my headlamp. I don't have to carry a lot of extra batteries and the Guide Ten is easy to use.
