This jacket has amazingly great insulation with little bulk, thanks to Primaloft insulation. True to the name this jacket is extremely light and comfortable. I have worn it in very cold conditions with an outer shell and alone in warmer/windy conditions. It is water resistant, but not waterproof. If I could improve one thing I would make the outer material a little more rugged. You may get a snag if hiking through brush etc...
