My husband and I tried this Stove-Free cold soak lunch entree on our backpacking trip through the Sierras last week. Hands down the best lunch we have ever had on the trail! I have tried everything out there, and I mean everything! I have taken the time to seek out every freeze-dried food option for thru-hiking that has ever been invented, and I have found some real amazing food out there by small independent companies around the USA. I have tried all of the Good To-Go Meals and this one wins overall for taste and ease of use.
How we prepared this meal: I used the top of my Lighter1 bear vault lid as a pan and heated up mini flour tortillas with some avocado oil until they were crispy and golden brown on each side while I cold soaked the Peanut Chicken Salad. I then made mini wraps. Mmmmmm Mmmmm GOOD! So flavorful and delicious! I am still craving them now and we are back home. I am going to order more today.
I have literally never tasted anything this amazing on the trail! The crunchy peanuts, savoy cabbage, shredded carrots, and dried Thai chillies along with the hint of coconut, lime and cilantro were giving my taste buds a real treat.
This is definitely a Must Try meal if you haven't done so already.
I could have this for lunch every day on the trail and be perfectly satiated.
