Helly Hansen Nylon Jacket

Got this jacket in February 1997. Quite heavy, but durable outer shell, simple design (no lower body pockets), loose cut (the collar lets some wind in). Main complaint - after 3 years the polyurethane coating started to crack and peel off in the shoulder/forearm area, so only the body remains waterproof.

Other negative points: DWR not very good, the outer shell wets out very quickly (but coating IS waterproof - no moisture ever penetrated it), and the heavy material holds tons of water and takes ages to dry. Pit zips go from th elbows only to the armpits - would be great if they extented to upper body as well.

All in all not too bad for the $130 (CDN), but I'm not sticking to the brand.
