Holubar

Holubar Mountaineering was founded by Alice and Roy Holubar in 1947 in Boulder, CO.  Holubar Mountaineering was the first to use Vibram soles on climbing boots, first to incorporate a down-filled collar on sleeping bags and first to create V-baffled down insulated clothing.  The company was purchased by Johnson Wax around 1975 after growing to 10 retail stores.  The brand was then sold to The North Face in 1980.
