I bought this pack while was in school to carry my heavy X/Motif/UNIX books around. It has padded shoulder straps but but no other padded straps. The side pockets have ski slots but skis have only been in them once. The bottom of the pack is leather and two years of grad school tourture hasn't been able to rip though it.

This pack is really only intended for light loads. The padded shoulder straps only go so far towards distributing the weight. Given this, the pack has worked well for me. I now use it as a backup pack or a pack for friends that don't have one.

Design: rucksack
Size: about 2500 ci
Number of Pockets: 3
Max. Load Carried: 30 lbs
Height of Owner: 6 ft 3 in
Price Paid: $80
