I though I would include this review as no one else has mentioned this sack which I used all year round for expeditions, weekends and daywalks and especially for rockclimbing. The sack had a a very strong CANVAS body with (at the time) a revolutionary detachable lid with giant press-studs at the neck side and all leather straps to the body of the sack. A single leather ice-axe loop on the front of the sack was the only adornment with a reinforced! crampon patch and lace on the lid. A fantastic sack which served me very well for 26 years until I replaced it this January with a Karrimor Hot Earth (see review). One for a museum if anybody wants it ?
