This is an amazing, lightweight, multi tool ax perfect for hiking and backpacking.

- If you choose not to buy the optional handle you have to make your own in the field, but this is actually quite fun and rewarding.
We took this multi tool titanium ax on our trek of the Pacific Crest Trail. We wanted something that was lightweight because backpack weight on the trail is crucial.
It comes with an optional handle, but we chose to use the KLAX head alone in the field to make its own handle for better weight management. It was fairly easy and quite fun to craft a branch into a handle with the KLAX head and patent pending clamping system.
The other multi-tools on the KLAX came in quite handy on our trip including the hammer, wrench features, ulu knife, bottle opener and gut hook. I would say this is an essential tool to pack for outdoor hiking adventures.
