L.L.Bean Lite Loft 20°

rated 4.5 of 5 stars

The Lite Loft 20° has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best 3-season synthetic sleeping bags for 2024.

This bag is identical to the Sierra Designs' Light'n up model. I have used it for about 20-25 nights so far and I love it. It has two drawstings, one for the neck and one for closing the hood around your face. I've used it down to 0 F, but was cold even with a liner. It's great down to its 20 F rating. It also packs down to an incredibly small size with the included stuff sack.

Design: mummy
Fill: Thinsulate Lite Loft
Temperature Rating: 20 F
Weight: about 3lbs
Price Paid: $140

This bag is great! It compresses (with the L.L. Bean small compression bag) to a tiny size of about 10" x 6" making plenty of room for other things in my pack. The fill is very light but plenty warm. The rectangular size is roomy. (I've abandoned mummy bags forever!) I've never had a problem with the zipper snagging the way I had on other bags.

Design: Rectangular
Fill: synthetic: polarguard (?)
Temperature Rating: 20f
Weight: approx. 3 lbs
Price Paid: US $150

This has been an excellent sleeping bag for all my fall, spring, and summer backpacking. When packed it is only 8"x20". It is very compressible. It has a good draft collar that keeps out any draft. I think it is well worth the cost.

Design: Rectangular long
Fill: Synthetic
Temperature Rating: 20f
Weight: 3lbs. 10 ozs.
Price Paid: $155
