A very good durable boot that can take you far. Providing you get the best pair that is available.

Pros

  • Heavy duty long lasting tread life
  • Very good durability
  • An excellent snow tread boot

Cons

  • Sides will split, unknown why this happens

I am on pair number four, half of which have split their sides six months into their use. A hard charging boot with long lasting durability, providing you get the "good" pair.

Two, of the four pairs, I have had decided to split on the sides and come apart. I have no idea why. Both other pairs were remarkably built like a tank, and survived anything I handed them until I wore the tread off of the bottom of them.

Have no fear though, I was able to return both of the pairs that split, and have them replaced due to great customer service through La Sportiva.

If you are looking for a lightweight boot that can comfortably carry your body plus 40 pounds on a weekend without hurting your feet, then this is your boot.

I've used this boot on two occasions three days each, walking about 15mi/day. The boot held its own the Impact Brakes system had noticeable grip in moist earth and hard pack alike.

The fit on the boot is supposed to be narrow however I wear a 12eeee New Balance shoe most of the time and the 45.5 boot fits me fairly well after initial break in. Which seems to be the consensuses when people try this boot on if other boots don't fit this one will.

Would I recommend this for a person that is going to be taking the boot leather express from Georgia to Maine, no. For everyone else that wants a lightweight boot to enjoy the outdoors whether it is hiking, or backpacking, Yes.

Materials: Gore Tex
Use: Moderate Trails and Pack Weight.
Price Paid: $140

Received a pair from STP, and unfortunately had to exchange them for a bigger size. Plan on ordering one full size bigger in these. I love these, they provide a lot fo comfort, and their shock system works great. With the shank that's in them you seldom feel rocks when you step on them.

I returned a pair at 6mos due to the side seam splitting, and received another brand new pair free. La Sportiva website does have a one year guarantee per them. Onto pair number two.
