Lowe Alpine Men's Adrenaline Jacket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars

The Men's Adrenaline Jacket has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best waterproof jackets for 2024.

This is an excellent, lighweight waterproof breathable. It packs small and light, has a good hood and the Lowe ceramic material breathes well while retaining good weatherproof characteristics. My only complaint is the pockets -- they are located too low (hard to get at if wearing a harness or waist band) and are a little small, but apparently the new (after 1999) versions of this jacket have gone to chest height pockets.

I'm of the long 'n lean variety, but the sleeves are a good length and the cut is long enough to prevent the jacket from riding up too far when I bend over.

This is an ideal "just in case" jacket for spring/summer/fall hiking and climbing as it takes virtually no room in the pack. It wouldn't work as well for winter trips. Highly recommended.

I bought this jacket to use in the summer when it's too warm to use my TNF mountain guide jacket. So far I've been pretty impressed (especially considering the price.)- The jacket is very light, packs very small and breaths well. The jacket does not have a very good hood - It's not easy to adjust and it doesn't move well with your head. There are no pit zips but venting is possible by opening the mesh-lined pockets and by opening the cuffs.

The jacket has especially impressed me with its high breathability, waterproofness and its water repelent finish, which is just fantastic.

For the price you can't beat this jacket. Got caught in a torrential downpour and stayed dry. Fabric didn't wet out and it is reasonably breathable. Lack of a liner didn't affect comfort. Light and compact too. Runs just a bit big, though elastic in waist makes it fit well.
