Macpac Ravine

rated 4.5 of 5 stars

The Ravine has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best weekend packs for 2024.

I bought this pack one year ago and have used it four times. It is reasonably priced and extremely well made and rugged. It has but one main compartment and a huge top pocket.

This pack needs sleeping bag straps and a drawstring at the lip of the main compartment and maybe even a strap over the top of the main compartment. The suspension is very nice and good for about 40 pounds, not much more.

I love this pack for what it is and it is rugged and simple and rather light for a pack this size, 4.5 pounds.

A simple top-loading internal frame pack with a large (300 cubic inch) pocket in the lid. I've very comfortably carried 35 lbs. with this pack. Quality is top-notch - something this New Zealand company is noted for. This is a quality pack, carefully constructed, and only 3lbs., 8oz. on my scale. Highly recommneded.
