Mammut Men's Ultimate Pro Jacket

photo: Mammut Men's Ultimate Pro Jacket soft shell jacket

This jacket is an average product. It fits and looks quit good, is absolutely windproof slightly waterresistant but is not very functional.

Windstopper-Softshell isn't very breathable. It is even less breathable than waterproof shells like XCR or Paclite (compare Gore homepage). This contradicts to the softshell-concept.

In my opinion an under-arm zipper is a "must have" particularly combined with a membrane.

The jacket is very close under the arms so that it handicaps you movement when using the strap for your thump. The hem on the hands is too loose. Cold wind gets into the jacket there and the sleeves slide onto your hands.

All in all I found the jacket to be not a very good deal. It is not waterproof, not much breathable, not very flexible, does not isolate, has few features and a high price. So what is this jacket for?
