Super easy setup.

Pros

  • Very easy setup, even in windy conditions.
  • Good interior spacing, actually comfortable for two people with good headroom, at least for 6'-2" me.
  • Can get out at night without climbing over your partner.
  • When raining can get out without letting the whole thunderstorm in.

Cons

  • Stakes are weakest point in my opinion. Bend easily when trying to beat into hard ground. Borrowed some old x body aluminum stakes from an old Sierra Designs? for my four critical points.

Easy setup with the hubs and pole clips instead of sleeves. Fast and can be done by one person even in decent winds. 3-5 minutes with even minimal practice.

No stability issues. Doesn't leak even after a couple of days of rain. Don't notice any pounding on the raincover that leads to drip, drip, drip on your nose in the midnight hours.

Ventilation: Could be better, rainfly goes down close to ground, good for windy conditions, not so great in summer.

Color: I like the orange gold color. Cheery when you wake up in the morning.

Storage is minimal under vestibule. Two pairs of boots and not much else.

Packs up fairly small. Weight is OK.

Held up fine so far, but I haven't used it all that much. Bad hip limited my hiking the last few years.

Just got the Ajax 2. Easy to set up. Loft, two vestibules, light weight.

Pros

  • Light weight
  • Two vestibules
  • Easy to set up

I go the Ajax 2 for my son. He will be sharing a tent with one other boy in Trail LIfe. You can't beat the value for such a tent.
