Matador Speed Stash Pocket
Gets the job done.
Pros
- Holds phone and glasses securely
- Easy access on your pack strap
- Weatherproof
Cons
- Only two height options
It's getting harder to find good cargo pants, especially in more technical wear. I tend to carry a few things in my pockets so the Stash Pocket helps solve the problem of not having enough. And, access is easier and I feel like items are way more secure in the Matador than they are in the shallow pockets on my trekking pants. The Matador comfortably holds my phone and glasses and I could probably stuff my little Canon digital camera in there as well. I've found this pocket is way easier to access than the hip belt pockets.
The Stash Pocket fits any pack with a sternum strap and the claim is you don't need to latch the sternum strap if you don't want to. I have not tried this but it feels like it would work ok. I do wish there were three options for attaching it but there are just two...one high and one low...which almost worked perfectly for me...but not quite. I'll get used to that.
One thing I was a little worried about was having that extra bulk wrapped around the shoulder strap but I didn't even notice it which was fantastic. Over all, I'm really happy with this attachment. I like having my phone and glasses handy and they are more secure here than they might me on my pocket. I consider it $30 well spent!
