Once in a while I buy a pair of shoes that seem to last forever, then when the time comes to replace them they've been discontinued and I end up wishing I'd bought two pair to start with. These shoes are those shoes, though hopefully I can still find a pair.

I have found Merrell Eagle III's to be a very durable and comfortable trail runner with high ankle support. I've had these shoes for three years now and find the Vibram sole to be almost indestructible and the leather still looking new. They work well as an everyday shoe on concrete or day trail hiking/running.

I use a pair of polysorb inserts for added support and comfort. I am a size 12D with a high arch and always go for these Merrels when I want to feel a great supportive fit, especially when I'm going to be on my feet outdoors all day.

I work in concert production and run the hilly trails of local parks for fun and exercise and Merrell Eagle III's are my number one choice for either activity. While they have been worth every penny spent and have outlasted my expectations, I will seek another pair for purchase in hopes they are still made to such a high quality standard.

These boots suck...to put it mildly. Not even close to waterproof and forget about comfort. After numerous disappointing hikes I dealt out the cash for some Asolos. Good choice.
