Merrell Men's Waterpro Maipo

Boy do I love these shoes! So much that I just bought another pair to keep for later use.

My family just went to several locations in the Caribbean and Central America. I wore these shoes snorkeling in Honduras and Cozumel. Wore them to Sting Ray City in the Cayman Islands, and wore them on a three mile jungle hike through the rain forest in Belize and then cave tubing. The Waterpros have held up perfectly.

I wore them at times with socks and at times without. They are extremely comfortable and light. No break-in required and no blisters or any sore spots at all. They can be a walking shoe, hiking shoe, running shoe, and water shoe. They’re so light an comfy, I wear them pretty much every day now. Excellent purchase.

I love these shoes. They are a few weeks old and I just love wearing them. Mostly I am wearing them casually in urban circles, but have run three 6 kms jogs on them and they were super comfy and supportive. I purchased $350 Italian mountain boots due to my insistence on build quality standards, any product with a sub standard build i detect immediately; these i only see and feel quality. The Vibram sole is excellent and integrates beautifully with the feather weight upper.

I love how light and tight they feel on my feet, but they also can be slipped off and on without too great an effort, which would be excellent in active circumstances where they do not need to be on at all times.

Can't wait to get them wet.

I am in the military as a dive instructor for the marine corps, and always find myself in, on, or around the water. And I must say as a water shoe you cannot beat this product.

However I did not buy them for that. I compete in adventure races and bought this shoe to race in. I will say because of its breathability and drainage it does let in a lot of debris. But you can't have it all.

As for running I have only had the shoes about a week and logged over 60 miles with no problems. A bit more support would be nice but they work great. I highly recommend for any outdoor enthusiast.

I like the shoe, but my problem is that on any hard surface, they squeak incredibly loud. So bad, that I am taking them back to the store.
