Nathan Run Laces
Lots of choices here besides Nathan, but these do work well and are reusable. Just take a small screwdriver to pop open the lace keeper when you want to change shoes with your Nathan laces.
Pros
- Fast, way faster than tying shoelaces
- Comfort, shoes grip my foot better with no hot spots
Cons
- They cost more than standard shoelaces.
- If the shoes have weird shoelace holes they might not fit.

Best improvement for running shoes at any cost. Faster than laces, more comfortable than laces, reusable. But there are shoes (for example Topo Atmos) that have rectangular lace holes—tough to get the shock cord in them.
No connection to Nathan or his company.
Background
Running over 50 years now.

I find them to be INCREDIBLY dangerous. The number of times I have caught this loop on roots and fallen is beyond belief. It is like they are made to catch roots, branches and rock points and not give at all.
Pros
- looks like a cool idea
Cons
- see summary above
See summary above. They are built to last, they are a cool looking idea, but that loop is designed to catch trail objects. I think they are dangerous.
Background
A lot of experience. I thought they were a great idea until my first hike...and about every other hike since then.
