Nice quality, light and airy. They just feel great after a long hike.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Comfortable
  • Durable materials

Cons

  • The colors shown on the NB site aren't exactly accurate

I use these around the campsite. The footbed is very comfortable with or without socks. The Vibram sole offers enough support and protection for my feet, and they just feel good after kicking around in my boots all day. I guess they'd work well as water shoes too, as the perforated polyurethane upper sheds water very well, but I've only used these while backpacking.

At 7.4oz for the pair, they're light and easy to justify carrying on excursions and they fit nicely into the top pocket of my pack. As such, they're the first thing out when I finally find a tent site or AT shelter.

With respect to the colors - I chose the Blue/Green. I was a bit surprised when I saw the blue was darker and the green was more neon than the muted lime color shown on the website. I can only imagine that the orange is also a day-glow rather than the tomato orange shown.

Like most New Balance I've owned, the construction is superior to other more expensive and heavier sandals I own. The soles don't peel off, the stitching and velcro hold up well and they fit perfectly without need for "break in"....
