Nimrod Backpack System is one of the most versatile systems I've ever had the pleasure to backpack with. It's not only lightweight, customizable, and waterproof, but its also made in America. It may be a bit on the expensive side for some folks but if you can afford it I highly recommend checking them out.

Pros

  • Well made
  • Versatile
  • Lightweight
  • Waterproof
  • Customizable
  • Great Customer Service

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Not advertised alot

If you are anything like me, a gear head. Then you know what it means to find a great product that provides all the luxuries you need while out on your hunt, backpacking trip. Before I started my search for packs I found that I needed something dual use and also customizable so that when I got to my hunt camp I could break down the pack to a smaller day pack. With the Nimrod pack system you can do this. As you can see in the provided flyer it shows you all the different parts of the pack that can be purchased. So it really has everything that your next hunt or backpacking trip will need.

Ever gotten to camp and only brought in your 1 giant pack and needed something a bit larger then just a fanny pack to get you by on a day's hike? That is not a problem with the Nimrod. Although it comes with an external frame, a Large Main bag, and hip belt that doubles as a fanny pack. Each of these individual pieces can be separated for whatever your needs are. You can go with just the fanny-pack, or if you want a shoulder harness to go with that, then you can also remove the harness and attach it to the fanny-pack so you have some of the weight riding on your shoulders.

Just need a good day pack? Not a problem separate the main pack and harness now you have a great day pack to get you through the day. And if you end up dropping that Elk or deer and need to pack out the meat? Nimrod can handle loads in excess of 100 lbs. So drop your day pack at camp grab the harness and external frame along with the hip belt fanny pack and within 30 seconds you have it all hooked up and ready to go quarter out that elk and pack it back. There isn't much that the Nimrod Pack System cant do.

As far as quality goes it just can't be beat. The Nimrod pack system comes in many different colors for whatever your needs are. I'm a hunter so I have it in the Camo color. It also has an outside fleece material to keep your pack quit when your putting that stalk on your next hunt. The bags are all completely waterproof with the inside being lined with ripstop nylon. all the straps are double sewn into the pack so you don't have to worry about ripping the seams.

The frame of the pack is an external frame but if you are just needing to add more weight to your day pack. That is not a problem as the main pack also has its own internal aluminum frame stays so you don't have to sacrifice loads if you want to leave the external frame at camp. The External Frame is made from aircraft aluminum so there is no question of its strength while keeping it well within the lightweight range for you minimalists.

As for the comfort factor of the Nimrod pack system, there is a bit of a learning curve to attach the buckles to switch up the system to your different needs. But once you get the points of connections figured out, you will have no problem adjusting the pack to different sizes or levels to get the weight off your shoulders and on to your hips. I have personally loaded up my Nimrod pack with 75+ LBS of stuff just to make the necessary adjustments. It handled the weight with no issues at all.

Nimrod also has a weapon sling that you can add to your pack to carry your rifle or bow into the field. I found it to be very handy when I was traversing those steep gullies that I need to free up my hands to have the 3 points of contact.

Nimrod also supplies many other products and add on pouches as your needs require. One of the best kept secrets and probably what Nimrod is most known for is their binocular sling that they sell. It is one of the best on the markets.

  • Comfort and durability
  • Warranty
  • Adjustability!!

Cons

  • I can't buy any more—WIFE SAID!!

If you spend your money on the OTHER guys costing twice your money you're wrong! This stuff is top quality and the craftsmanship is excellent. The owner is a top quality individual and the warranty is world class. Try it! It will be the last one you will ever need!!

I tell everyone I meet they need to look at the prices the "Hunting Magazine Boys" charge for their equipment and gear. It's outrageous! NPSystems is better made and every bit as tough as any of theres!! And half the price!!.

Buy it, you won't be sorry!!
