Oboz O Fit Insole II
Excellent. Made me want to get the thermal ones and more pairs for other boots.
Pros
- Good shock absorbing
- Excellent comfort
- Priced right
Cons
- none

Bought some Italian made boots with their Gore-tex type waterproofing and found the insoles to be too firm. That was about Thanksgiving of 2025. Immediately I hunted down replacement insoles. I've used Kiwi, Sorbothane, Profoot, Sof Sole, Dr Scholls, and Superfeet in the past. These have to be the best for the price so far. My son-in-law has Oboz boots he loved, so that influenced the purchase and I'm glad it did.
I've only used them a few months, but I'll likely shop for a couple more pairs in the spring for other boots and shoes. I already ordered one extra pair. Spending another $20 to make a quality boot even better seems to be a no-brainer thing. I don't need a true orthotic and have found changing the insole on most of my footwear has made them more comfortable and I have less fatigue whether working, driving, running, or hiking.
From my searching I've found Oboz makes thermal insoles for winter use and a complete array of other models. Of all the ones I've bought I'll be looking at their boots also. Very pleased they sell their insoles alone for upgrading other brands. They also make a green trail-specific insole that's a bit pricier about $40 but still less than some others. I just happened to get the red ones which are sold as a comfort models as the store I was at only had those and the winter ones. The red are sometimes labeled as the BFCT model for Black Folks Camp Too, but are actually the same as the green trail-specific model at about half the regular retail. Looked online and only a few places still stock the cheaper ones.
Background
I have feet and I was on them for 50 years of working on concrete or steel decks. Only find about 1/2 the current footwear I buy to have the support and comfort I've decided to settle for. Too many brands seem to skimp now on insoles or laces quality to hit price points.

Love Oboz. Oboz wide is the only hiking boot that fits my combination last foot perfectly so naturally I buy their insoles also.
Pros
- They fit Oboz wide boots
Cons
- none that I can tell.
Love Oboz. Oboz 12 wide is the only hiking boot that fits my combination last foot perfectly so naturally I buy their insoles also. I need a C heel and an EE toe box. Only other mass produced shoe that fits is an ASICS 12 wide. Sometimes a Topo 12 will fit me. Altra heel is too wide usually. Fearing Oboz disappearing or changing their last I have quite a stock of insoles and boots.
Background
Hiking 50 + years.
