Barilla PLUS Penne Pasta
This is my pasta of choice for backpacking. Made with golden semolina and wholesome flaxseed, spelt, oats, barley and legumes, it includes a healthy dose of protein (10g), Omega-3's, and fiber (4g).

Due to its high protein content, the pasta takes about 12-14 minutes to cook at altitude. But it is delicious. Fully cooked, it has a slight al dente consistency to it.
One sandwich bag full of dry pasta is enough to fill 4 adults, using a sauce of your choice (pesto/pine nuts for me). I have not tried pre-cooking these, which may work (eliminate cooking/boiling time).
