I purchased one of these boonies after having two consecutive Tilley's shrink on me beyond wearability.
Not wishing to waste any more money I went for this as a budget solution and a failsafe option.
These hats are "one size fits most" and as a result are extremely comfortable.
The manufacturers claim that the fabric isn't UPF tested or rated, but if you wear this hat in conjunction with other head protection (bandana) etc full UV protection is pretty much guaranteed.
I wear a bandana underneath mine, which is only possible because of the adjustable nature of the hat, and this helps with sweat wicking, thus further improving comfort.
These hats are amazing quality for the money and as previously mentioned extremely comfortable. Being a 65/35 Polyester/Cotton blend also ensures a fair degree of natural UV protection from the fabric itself and fast drying, along with durability and light weight.
An extremely lightweight, durable and stowable hat that will fold easily into a large pocket.
Highly recommended.
Background
Personally I prefer this to my Tilley hat...it's more comfortable.
