Ozark Trail Boots

rated 1.0 of 5 stars

The Boots has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best footwear for 2024.

Lasted over 4 years of hard use. Still going strong.

Pros

  • Comfortable, light and waterproof.
  • Firm enough with a shank, but not rigid.
  • Excellent price?!

Cons

  • After over 4 years, there's a bit of delaminating happening where the sole meets the leather.

I purchased a pair of Ozark Trail boots for $30, back in 2008 when I was a poor student, so I would have some footwear for climbing Mt Shasta, in CA. They are some of the most comfortable climbing boots I have ever worn.

I have since worn them on many other hikes both locally and as far afield as Alaska & New Zealand. I've worn them for working in snow, driving heavy machinery, light construction work, clearing scrub, fishing, and as general footwear around town.

They're still holding together and are still waterproof all this time later. The only cause for concern is that there's a slight delam around the top of the rubber soul, where it meets the leather now. But after over 4 years, who can complain?!

Unbelievable. Possibly the best $30 I've spent.

I was so impressed, I got my wife an identical pair.

They are good boots, the top half anyway! I am in the woods every day and these boots are comfortable. They just need a better sole. When you wear Whites for a good portion of your life you like a comfortable slipper slash boot, and people if you can't make a comfortable slipper boot get out of the way I can do it!

Pros

  • The top half

Cons

  • The soles are very weak, weak like their maker! Flat landers.

Thought you folks like money? Make a better sole and you will make money. That won't happen because you folks like the easy money shortcuts.

i have had two pars of ozark trail boots and each time the soles inside the boots did not hold up for even a month. i tried to take them back to the store and they would not give me my money back so i can buy a new boots from somewhere else.

i will never by any more boots from walmart. i have no good luck with them. i had to go back out to find me some new boots. where i live it's 60 miles away from my house with me not having a car to get there it cost me more money then i can aford. i'm on a fixed income.

i'm sorry for writing this bad review but just makes me mad and i hope somebody from the company will get back to me soon. thanks and god bless you all.

I would NEVER recommend anyone to waste money on these ...

Pros

  • Overall they fit ok, but so do my socks with holes in them ...

Cons

  • Tongue, pull strap both too short ...water leaks at the bottom of the lacing
  • Lacing is too short to open up wide enough for foot which, would be ok if pull strap was longer .

Tongue is too short and repeatedly slips below laces. The pull strap is for looks only and unusable. Water leaks around the bottom lace holes.

Tread is ok when walking but fills with mud or rocks and needs continuous cleaning or you may slip. These had to be "field tested" in a parking lot if at all and not in reality.

Favorite civilian boot is Brahma and still is after buying Ozark Trail. I needed a pair of boots and Brahma were sold out. I should have waited ..

Background

Since retiring from the Army I now have a farm. I wear boots every day and have owned several pairs from different companies. Favorite civilian boot is Brahma and still is after buying Ozark Trail. I needed a pair of boots and Brahma were sold out.

I have had mine a while, more than three years, and only wear in my yard. I don't work in them. The soles are dissolving and round holes are showing through them. No more for me. Bought new at Walmart.

Pros

  • Good uppers

Cons

  • No good "where the rubber meets the road"

Made in China may say it all.

After about three weeks the top where but the foot goes separated from the heel. They are garbage!! I want my money back, but I don't have the receipt. I will never buy boots at Walmart again—pure junk!

Pros

  • Nothing

Cons

  • They fall apart after a couple of weeks. I had to caulk and use Liquid Nails to keep the heel from completely separating from the boot itself.

Garbage, garbage, garbage!!!

My daughter wore her boots for about three hours, if that, regular walking. When she went to take them off, the top portion ripped right off of the bottom portion. I will never purchase this brand ever again.

Pros

  • None!

Cons

  • Waste of money. Pieces of garbage!

Complete waste of money!

NO GOOD. Didn't have long or wear a lot, yet bottom of boot has a worn out hole already under foot in back of shoe

Pros

  • Good price
  • Top seems ok

Cons

  • Bottom of boots are made of crap

No good. Doesn't last long at all. Wears out on bottom way too fast.

Source: borrowed it

I received them on Friday evening just in time for our weekend camping trip,  on Monday after about 14 hours of wearing them the insole in the right boot was falling apart and the PLASTIC on the inside was digging into my foot.. I figured I was getting what I paid for but was hoping they would have lasted until fall.

On the bright side they look and  fit great and you will get a few miles out of them. Maybe.

I give this one star because I still like the looks. Got to be honest I go with it a lot and not said much but this is the worst boot I have ever bought. I got blisters in two days and can hardly walk in these boots.

Very disappointed in the Ozark Trail footwear.

The boot heels split and broke up after a 90-minute hike. So, America, please keep your clown shoes in America. We don't want them palmed off on us.

Version reviewed: Judd

Pros

  • Looks like a nice boot and waterproof

Cons

  • Had the Judd waterproof boots only three weeks and heel fell apart, cracked open. Very disappointed.

Waste of money, heel fell apart after 3 weeks of use. Had Ozarks before. They were a great boot lasted years for me. Not this pair.
