Patagonia says:
For light and fast ascents, descents, or both. This stretchy, breathable pullover compresses enough to stash in a pack or pocket (the zippered chest pocket converts to stuffsack with a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop), but when prevailing conditions present, protects without suffocating. Quarter-zip allows for venting; stretch knit jersey at cuffs and hem keep out weather, fabric is fast drying if wetted through. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish provides additional moisture protection.
