Peak 1 Grey Fox

rated 4.5 of 5 stars

This bag is an excellent bargain. You can find it at a sporting goods store for $60 to $70, or at a Coleman outlet store for $45. Its 15 degree temperature rating is not optimistic, as this bag will keep you very warm. Weighing in at about 4 1/2 pounds, it's not the lightest bag on the market, but for $45, I'm willing to work a pound off in the lap pool instead, and save a C-note or two. The bag comes with a nice compression stuff sack. Having used my Grey Fox on multiple cooler weather trips, I can say that I am extremely happy with it.

I used this bag for the first time 11-15-98 at Jones Park in the North Cheyenne Canon area. The temp dipped to 23 degrees and the bag was plenty warm in my skivvies. I'm sure it could go to zero comfortably. Nice compression stuff sack, draft tube could be bigger though. Overall for the money I am very pleased with it.

I've had this sleeping bag for about 2 years and had no problems except a broken zipper. I like the collar thing inside the sleeping bag which helps seal in heat. It's a very good value. I just wish they had used a better insulation like Thermolite or Polarguard 3D, but you get what you pay for.
