Quechua 2-Seconds Pop Up Tent
Quick, easy, excellent waterproofing; difficult to dry and store.
Pros
- Wickedly fast pop up (watch your eyes!)/settles over time
- Super built-in tarp bathtub with raised sides
- ** Inner can be removed on your own and re-installed to clean or waterproof outer**
- Excellent design and capability in rain
- Excellent design with gap between inner and outer
- Beautiful mesh
- 2 pockets on either side!!
- Little hook for your light!
- Beautiful colour
- Affordable
- A bit of a vestibule
- Easy to stake
- Easy setup and teardown
- Very roomy
- High quality materials throughout, as well as carrying case
- Comes seam sealed
- Am so spoiled with this setup that any tent I have to set up seems so laborious now!
- All easily fits into zippered case
- Decathlon provides phenomenal support; a part was missing and they provided an extra, and also advised me on removal of inner so I could de-mould it
- My go-to tent bc of arthritic hands and mosquito-laden Canada
- Well priced for quality and function. I will use this tent until there's nothing left of it.
Cons
- Because of built-in fly, mould develops easily (need to then remove and scrub w vinegar)
- No option for one-person pop up = can get chilly, and is just over-tenting for a single person
- Stakes are heavy
- Can't take hiking
- Not large enough vent at back, although pretty good re condensation, but freaking hot in high temps
- The circular design doesn't quite fit into my Thule; the circle is strangely awkward in my car as well, lol
- Too large/cold for little old me—really wish there was a smaller option
- For anyone with spatial dyslexia, the side staking design is confusing; had to get my brother to figure it out.
- Replacement inner is almost as $$ as the entire tent, which doesn't make sense.
I definitely do not regret this purchase for excellent quality and high functioning in rain in particular. Am used to very small hiking/motorcycling tents, and am petite, so this is like a palace, albeit more chilly. There's a bit of a vestibule, which have found I really can't live without.
The setup and takedown (after watching a video 3 times) is super easy and now am addicted to pop up everything. Don't take this hiking, though—not meant for that. Just really wish there was a smaller version for just one person.
Background
Lots of recreational and hiking experience. I own 4 tents. Now have arthritic hands, so this tent is my go-to!
