REI Igneo 25

So far so good. This bag has held up and kept me warm for a year, even when camping in shoulder seasons in Alaska and the Sierra. I carry it on all kinds of backpacking trips and I have no issues with it.

I like the packed size and weight. It fits me well (5'7" broadish shoulders). It's warm but not sweaty. Zipper has been reliable.

I was shopping Western Mountaineering and Feathered Friends, ready to drop the big money, when a friend who worked at REI showed me this one and told me when it was going to be on sale. I would say it's 85% of the bag for less than half price.

Great bag, I would buy another one. You can't go wrong buying this bag. It has the quality or exceeds the quality of much more expensive 20 degree bags.

I used this bag on an AT thru-hike 2015. What I like most about the bag is it's ultra-lite, very packable, very water resistant and a perfect fit for me at 165 pounds 5'10", using the regular bag. I found it to be a very comfortable bag.

I washed the bag using cold water and dried the bag in a dryer on low heat using drier balls to keep the down from matting up. This worked fairly well but had some matting, so I hung it on a door overnight and shook the bag a few times the next day and the down dried nicely.

I didn't notice any cold spots at all unless the hood or draft tube was opened. The coldest night on the AT was around 32 degrees and I was nice and warm. I never had any dampness from condensation or rain penetrating the bag.

Surprisingly the bag never had an odor and as you know hikers can really stink at times from sweating all day. When I came home and washed the bag to store it, I laid it out and in still lofted up like new.

I plan to buy the women's version called the Jeoule which zippers on the right and can attach to the unisex Igneo bag I have that zippers on the left. Outdoorgearlab.com also gives the Igneo a top rating.

Good, warm bag for winter camping down to single degree temps as long as you have a good pad. Waterproof covering kept bag dry from condensation that formed on tent and dripped onto bag,

I've had this bag for over two years now and have used it in all 4 seasons. Used this bag for spring and summer trips in Alaska where temps at night went down to the mid 30s. The bag was too warm for me so I had to open it up to control temp. I also used it in early winter in both Alaska and Washington state were temps ranged from 10 to 20 degrees at night and had no problem. The draft collar worked to keep out drafts. 

The waterproof coating worked great. The drops of water from the condensation that formed on the tent just roll off and never soaked into the bag, even when my bag was up against the tent wall my bag never got wet. 

I have big shoulders and the bag was a little tight. Overall length was good, the foot box was big enough for my feet to move around in. The zipper worked well, never snaged on the fabric when using the zipper from inside the bag or out. Came with a stuff sack, but I purchased a compression sack that made packing the bag even smaller.

I’ve gotten through some very cold nights at higher altitudes by wearing cold weather gear and a bag liner inside my Igneo 25 long. Good value and quality with some very nice design features for the price. The light weight and compressibility is outstanding. After two years it is still my “go to” when heading out with a backpack. Thumbs up!
