First, let me say that all my hiking boots are Salomons, as well as casual winter boots (Jaws) and my nordic boots. Needless to say, I am sold on Salomon, except the XA Pro. I don't have a wide foot, but the side supports dig into both the inside and outside of my foot. I get terrible blisters on my arches. I can't wear them for anything other than a casual shoe, when I know I won't be walking or on my feet too much. I love Salomon, but this shoe is horrible.

Use: trail runs
Break-in Period: almost none needed

WOW! It's like running in waterproof, or should I say bulletproof, slippers. Soooo comfy. If you live or train in an enviroment like I do in the Northwest these are the real deal.

Materials: gore-tex
Break-in Period: one week
Price Paid: $120
