  • Warm
  • Lofty
  • Cool colors
  • Doesn't leak down
  • Great bag overall

Cons

  • Little heavy
  • Bulky
  • Hood drawstring adjustment was mediocre

DriDown technology is the most amazing contribution to the camping world. I don't know why any future down product would be made without it. I have the 20 degree model and it weighs around 3 lbs. Packs a little bulky, but the fill is the reason and it's quite obvious by the loft it has.

The recent trip was on 4/10/2013 to Twin Lakes Sequoia. The entire 5-day trip was spent in 3-8 feet of hardpacked snow. I used an insulated mat under my NeoAir XTherm air mattress which is already rated at a 5.7 and was warm at temps that dipped to mid 20's.

On snow, by a creek, condensation was heavy first night and I woke up to beads of water glistening on the bag in the morning. Leaving my vestibule open a foot from the ground eliminated this on night 2 and on. I slept super warm, never a hint of cold made it through this bag. Temp rating is accurate in my opinion.

What makes it a 4.5 over a 5 are a few things. The zipper was good, but still had a few snagging issues and the hood ties cinch down but it was not the best fit. It packed rather big, my 13 liter compression sack that I use for my 25 degree Halo bag was a pain to stuff it in. I recommend a 16 to 18 liter sack to ease packing. Overall this is a great bag, the one I would trust in all conditions compared to my standard down bags.

To get the most of any bag, make sure you insulate beneath you. Not everyone knows this, so read into it.

This is the only bag you'll need for 3 season! I've seen the Kelty DriDown but the Sierra Fesigns has the little details and comparable pricing. It wins hands down!

Pros

  • Warm when wet and I mean WET!! Buckets!!
  • Super soft material, soo warm!
  • Stuff size! Comes with 2 bags! One for storage and the other for travel.
  • Love the colors!!

This bag is what they say! Keeps dry when wet! Has all the features you'd want in a bag, loops for hanging, loops for a sleeping pad, zippered chest pocket for goodies and a cliche down hood. Also comes with a bag for storage and the other for stuffing!

Zipper opens at bottom to allow feet to be cool. I'm one of those sleepers! Feet must be free!!

It surprised me how soft the material is and love the colors, as for the zipper, I've seen other state that it gets stuck. This is because it's so fluffy. If you just run your finger along the inside as your zipping it theres no problem! Figure it out people instead of complain! lol, There's seaming tape sewn along the zipper... you'll see what I mean when you buy this great bag! Nothing compares!!

Sierra Designs has made great quality products for years!! I own several other things by them and it's the little details that make their products stand out!

Excellent 3-season bag.

Pros

  • Wonderful 3-season bag.

Cons

  • Zipper catches on occasion, but easy to manage.

It is a 3-season bag and works excellent for such use. For colder exposure a liner is recommended. Proper space inside as mummy bag: not too snug but not to much airspace which makes staying warm more difficult.
