19-year-old Jupiter CD tent.

I purchased this tent when I was about 19 years old and use it and up until my mid 20s. Today I am 38 and have pulled it out for the first time in many years.

The zippers are still good and strong so are all the straps. The screen has no holes, but a little old mud on the bottom of it from my last usage it's fair which is relatively clean and in excellent condition. I stretched it out today for the first time in many years.

Stitching is in excellent condition, zipper as I mentioned before is also an excellent condition, snap clips are too. As well as the three collapsing poles with strings in them to keep them together.

So the moral to the story is pay good money for a good product and take care of it. It might just outlive you.

This is a larger version of the Orion. It's billed as a 3-person tent, but it would be very cozy for three; for two it's quite spacious. I've been very pleased with the tent. Its weight is decent for its size and it has a decent vestibule. The fly extends almost to the ground. It's not factory seam-sealed and the fly has alot of seams so it takes a while to get it storm-ready. But properly sealed it hasn't leaked on me yet. The only complaint I have is that I wish the back panel (opposite the door) were at least partially mesh -- that would allow a better cross breeze to flow through on hot nights.

Extremely versatile and quick tent. The 3-person rating may be pushing it for 3 adults, but me, my wife, and 4-year-old son fit with comfort. The seams are not factory sealed, but it comes with seam sealer and this works very well after the effort of applying. The tent holds up in most all weather with ease. The major complaint is with the small cross pole over the door. This pole tends to flip down there is a rain storm. It allows water to collect in the space created and you need to dump the pool before opening the vestibule door. Otherwise a very rugged and versitile tent for many uses.

I slept in it in severe March winds in Maryland. I simply did an adequate job of guying it out and it was still bomb-proof in the morning. I bought it when it was released about two years ago. I've used it in all types of weather imaginable, even light snow. Never has there been a single drop of condensation inside thanks to the mesh ceiling panel and wall strips, and the flexible and plentiful guying options. This tent was a truly wise investment for 365 day use in the Southeastern US (I live in Georgia).
