Soto Pocket Torch XT
Awesome telescope feature on a jet type lighter. They do burn down gases in between the trigger and burner. It is a fact of life.
I have enjoyed the distance between my fingers and the other fuel's ignition immensely!
Like my propane BBQ. Had two and used them up over a year each!.
Pros
- I have not tried to send back...because I used the shi- out of them
Cons
- They do break...piezo
I have enjoyed the distance between my fingers and the other fuel's ignition immensely! Like my propane BBQ or the rustic pine shavings to start my fire pit.
"in my front yard" "Tennessee style!"
About to step out of city life for the longest walk of any man's life to find myself?
Two and used them up, over a year each!
They do break...piezo. I have not tried to send back because I used the shi- out of them.

The Soto Pocket Torch does not shut off when its igniter is released. The flame lingers for about three seconds after release. The flame adjusting screw is also bad, almost no adjustment, also slow to refill.

Very cool, but very bad.
Pros
- design idea is great
- refillable
- windproof
Cons
- poor execution
- breaks before really using it
- igniter doesn't work
I bought one, I liked it, filled it with gas, and it broke the next day. Never had the chance to really use it.
I wanted to repair it myself, wrote an email to Soto, explaining the symptoms. And asked them how can I fix it. They recommend to return the product because it was not something I could fix.
I remember I was very disappointed because I really like it. Very expensive for a gas lighter though.
Background
I've been a smoker, so I really do have some experience with lighters ;)
