The North Face Cerro Torre Jacket

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

The Cerro Torre Jacket has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best synthetic insulated jackets for 2024.

This North Face coat is a great insulating piece as well as a phenomonal outer piece in milder weather. The polarguard 3D insulation is great when it is wet--much better than down insulation and it retains its warmth properties even when winds are gusting. I have not tried this jacket out in any extreme weather yet but I have used it to just bomb around.

Under the Mountain Jacket which I wrote a review on earlier this would be an unbeatable combination for skiing in harsh conditions. The jacket is also very light and commpressible as well as thin. So if you are looking for a jacket that is made better than the cheap Nupste and is warmer go for the Cerro Torre insulation layer.
