The North Face Chilkat II Luxe

I love North Face gear…now except for the footwear.

I had kept these shoes in the original box in my closet waiting to put them to good use. When I finally planned a trip to Yosemite, I was excited to finally get that chance. First day, first hike I noticed cracks in the boot. That's how it started. As the day wore on, the plastic toe began to crack and separate from the leather boot. Before the day was over one shoe was intact and the other had completely fallen apart. I spent the rest of my trip hiking in my ASICS sneakers. 

I saw this site and knew the problem was with the shoes and not the Yosemite trails. I brought it to REI where I bought it but they could not help me. The purchase was beyond their return policy. They did give me the North Face number and address to the warranty department. I saw this site and decided it would be a waste of time

I can‘t believe North Face continues to make and sell this garbage. Just wanted to add to this post to help others who are considering buying this shoe.
