The North Face Diameter Down Hybrid Jacket

rated 1 of 5 stars
photo: The North Face Diameter Down Hybrid Jacket down insulated jacket

Jacket ripped first time skiing with no significant falls. Warranty process non-existent. Buyer beware.

Pros

  • Great looking jacket and very warm

Cons

  • Terrible quality
  • Tears/rips easily
  • Warranty advertised is false
  • North Face customer care the worst I've dealt with

Bought the North Face Diameter Down jacket while traveling through Paris. First problem arose when I wanted to swap sizes, only to be told you can't swap items between different North Face stores.

Thereafter, took the jacket out skiing/snowboarding for the first time two weeks later and it ripped without any significant falls. Jacket is now completely useless.

North Face customer care and warranty service are impossible—they just continually give you the runaround while apologising politely but doing nothing. After chasing them for a month I have now been told the warranty service is not available until May or June, and even then it will take another six weeks.

Buyer beware. Stick to the more reputable brands who honour their warranties and produce quality product.

Background

Only owned the jacket for two weeks before it ripped without any falls/wipeouts to note.
