Vasque Newbrier II

Vasque is no longer in business, and the Newbrier II has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best backpacking boots for 2025.
At first I was delighted with these boots, however the pleasure soon turned to pain! Both pair on the right inside heel (heel cup) had a severe "bump" or rather what felt like a couple of pebbles embedded in the lining; BLISTER CITY! This problem manifested only a few days into the breaking in period and never went away.
I must say $189 is way too much for these boots that I can't see lasting more than a season. Simply put, the boot should cost nearly half as much.
