I have a lot of combat boots. Not weird, I have even more non-combat hiking boots. These boots are a result of looking for boots that work for me.
Anyway my favorite combat boots are these. They are by far the most comfortable and fit me perfectly and look to be reliable (I keep boots until the third resole usually). What I try to find is a wide toe box and a snug heel and comfy and good ankle support and these work perfectly. Minimal break in.

Been backpacking and hiking mostly Sierra Nevada for 51 years.
