Arc'teryx Procline Support - Men's

photo: Arc'teryx Men's Procline Support alpine touring boot says:
Arcteryx is bridging the gap between technical mountain boot and ski mountaineering boot with its Procline series. The best features of an alpine climbing boot meet those of a ski boot with a patented two piece cuff design that allows for up to 23 degrees of lateral range of motion in the ankle. Pair that with 75 degrees of range fore and aft and the result is the perfect tool for technical rock and ice ascents and a ski off the summit. Injected Grilamid makes up the lower shell and a waterproof built in gaiter keeps the elements out in the worst of conditions. The 2 buckle closure system gives a comfortable and secure fit while keeping clutter to a minimum, and placing the lower buckle over the top of the boot eliminates snags on rocks or crampons in technical terrain. A Vibrum sole and rubber toe cap provide excellent grip and protection on rock. The Procline is compatible only with tech style bindings and comes equipped with Dynafit certified inserts. The Procline has a soft flex, but it feels like it could drive a 105 waisted ski in blower powder. In the shop we found that these have a short boot sole length and fit a little small and felt that 1 size larger than our normal mondo sizes was a better fit across the board. Few boots cater to those who prioritize the climb over the decent, but if that's you the Arcteryx Procline is the boot to beat. 360Adeg rotating cuff allows for natural ankle articulation not before seen in a ski boot. Integrated high-density CORDURAA(R) gaiter is abrasion and puncture resistant. Grilamid and cuff has a split design that allows lateral articulation in walk mode. Elastic gaiter has a waterproof PVC coating and rugged zipper to keep your feet dry. Steel pivot point on the split cuff allows motion while still providing ankle support. Low-profile 6060 aluminum buckle is wired with a steel cable for a secure lower fit. Wide Cam Lock power strap provides dynamic flex with quick micro-adjustment. Special VibramA(R) tread pattern designed for edge control, braking, and smearing. Dynafit certified inserts make for reliable insert and release from tech bindings. Rubber toecap adds grip while climbing and endures some scrambling impacts. Reduced shell length, crampon-optimized toe, and rockered sole improve climbing. Two liner options help match your fit, weight, support, and warmth requirements.
